Michał Bombrych

Graduate of the Warsaw University of Technology in the field of electric and hybrid vehicles, specializing in autonomous vehicles. For the past four years, he has been professionally associated with Lynx, a company developing operating systems for the aerospace and defense sectors.

He combines technical expertise and defense industry experience with political analysis, viewing the technological dimension of modern threats as an integral component of risk assessment.

His research interests focus on raw material security and the security of sea lines of communication (SLOCs), with a particular emphasis on maritime chokepoints. He analyzes the economic aspects of maritime trade and threats to its continuity—ranging from piracy to the militarization of trade routes. A separate area of his interest is the post-Soviet space—Central Asia and Belarus, along with the overland corridors of the New Silk Road running through them, and their significance as alternatives to maritime routes.

In his work, he views energy, food, and maritime security as a single cause-and-effect chain, examining how disruptions in raw material supplies shape economic stability, political conditions, and food security.

He has presented his analytical findings at the Asian Congress in Toruń. He is also an editor of the podcast “Punkt Widzenia” (Point of View), which he uses as a platform to popularize analysis on security and international relations.
